Lodging Allowances
Officers requiring accommodation must contact
Finance Department in the first instance, giving a minimum of 48 hours notice in
order to book accommodation through a
Local Government Association Club where
possible.
Where this is not possible, then reimbursement will be up to the following
maximum amounts:
£100 outside Central London
£125 within Central London
An officer must support a claim with a valid receipt and the officer’s line
manager must verify the claim. A claim without a valid receipt will not be
accepted unless there are exceptional circumstances. Claims for reimbursement
will not be met where force provision has been made in respect of subsistence
and/or accommodation.
Some difficulty has been experienced in arranging lodging within the permitted
maximum expense level. This problem is particularly acute in respect of travel
to central London.
Where suitable accommodation cannot be found within the permitted maximum
expense level, more expensive accommodation can be sought with the prior
permission of the Budget holder, Departmental Head, Divisional Administration
and Finance Manager, or Divisional Commander.
